Houses of Worship

The Fourth Ward is blessed with a number of historic, vibrant churches.

First United Methodist
held their inaugural service in 1927, though the sanctuary wasn’t completed until March 1928.
First Presbyterian
was officially recognized in 1821 and committed to remaining in the heart of Charlotte.
St. Peter’s Episcopal
organized in 1834 and recognized as a parish in the Diocese of North Carolina in 1844.
Elevation
located in the former First Baptist Church, now called McGlohon Theatre at Spirit Square.
