Our February Service Project is to donate coats to the Salvation Army
Feb 8-23rd.
Drop off gently used and new coats of all sizes:
Gloria and Jim’s front porch, 427 W. Pine St., Charlotte NC 28202 (look for the bins behind the rocking chairs on the porch.) You can also drop them off at Fifth and Poplar and tell them that Shirley Cress Dudley will pick them up.
We are all looking for silver linings in our everyday Covid life. Given all the time we have at home, cleaning and creating new space has proven to be incredibly therapeutic. At this point in February, most of us have a fair gauge on the winter coats that still give you joy and the unused ones occupying valuable closet space.
Our winter coat drive is a timely opportunity to make room and give the gift of warmth. We welcome enthusiastic participation, as we are collecting and donating new and gently used coats to The Salvation Army. All coats will be distributed to their men, women, and children’s shelters, as well as The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte.
Most of us are familiar with Salvation Army thrift stores. In addition, they offer a variety of intricate community outreach programs and have rooted a strong foundation and presence in Charlotte. Their life-altering programs have the breadth and depth to create permanent change for a wide range of communities in need. We invite anyone curious to learn more about specific services The Salvation Army provides to our community.

There is a lot we cannot do during the pandemic, but what we can do will keep us moving–onward! #fourthwardclt
I hope in the years to come, everyone will be able to take pride
