Return to Paid Parking Uptown

Return to Paid Parking on August 1st.

Uptown will return to paid parking beginning August 1. For the first couple of weeks, Park It will be issuing only warning citations except for safety violations. This should help in relaying to customers the change in business.

Residential Permit Parking in Uptown Ward Neighborhoods
Additionally, due to COVID-19 and unforeseen circumstances with the digital residential permit platform, they’ve had to delay the launch to October 1. The City asks residents in affected Uptown Ward Neighborhoods to keep an eye on CDOT’s social media, Twitter and Facebook, for the most up to date information.

Once City offices open, they can issue physical permits to ward residents who have been unable to obtain them. Those permits will get them through to the launch on October 1. They do not have a firm date on the official opening but understand it will align with decisions made by Governor Cooper.
